I'm running a scan on a backup copy of all my MAME data on another HD and am seeing no issues other than it wanting to rename the three CHD's (crypt killer and the judge dredd's) by removing the .chd extension (which I know is NOT CLRMAME's fault). I'm going to stop and get a new cable tonight (one of the new slick slim 80 pin cables...now I have an excuse to try one...). My existing 80 pin has been twisted, etc. a number of times and even has a section where the ribbon has a hole in it (the strands separated). I'm wondering if it didn't get damaged somehow.

After that, if a new cable does not solve it, I'll be swapping the drive to be safe.

I appreciate the help, I'll let you know what happens.
