in settings -> import... the tooltop says "import paths from mame.cfg", and althought the dialog box allows you to select either mame.cfg or mame.ini, the default is still mame.cfg. the main development platform is now windows, which uses ini. so it should be the default :-? anyway it's merely visual. i guess this is what the guy is asking about...
