SubjectSorting ROMS to directories? Reply to this message

A little while ago, I had my ROMs sorted into directories (Standard, Neo-Geo, Etc.) I didn't do this myself, as I had grabbed a set off of a bittorrent site. When I went to use CLR, I moved all my ROM's into one folder just for convienence. Now that I've got all up to .79u1, and every ROM checks out as good, i'd like to sort them again. Can CLR do this? Or do I have to do it by hand / with another program? Thanks.

You can sort them to systemdefaultpaths. So only splitting by different bios sets is possible (e.g. neogeo or cvs sets, but not cps1/cps2).

Assigning the paths to the different systems is done my the system dialog available in rebuilder/scanner/merger window.

You can then rebuild files to the beloning path or can use fixmissing from now on to put them to their correct place. For both you have to enable the systemdefault options in the rebuilder and scanner->advanced.

If you want to avoid rebuilding, you have to move them manually. To make it easier you can enable an option to warn you about a wrong placed set. Scanner->advanced

An automatic move to the belonging folder may be included in a future release.

Yep, this is exactly what I wanted. One game (hook) messed up somehow, but it was no big deal. I was just worried about using it. Excellent, thanks Roman.
