since i download roms from 8 billion sources, the only time i sometimes know if the files is good is when i use the rebuilder.

i would be GREAT if the the rebuilder window right-click would have a CUT / COPY option near the bottom where the DELETE file is.

this way i can cut out what clrmame says is bad and repair em.

thanks.

actually, no. there is still editing involved to make it a batch file.

basically, now i use the 'copy to clipboard' option, paste the results into a new .bat file, do a series of search and replaces, save the file, run it, then the files are "moved" out so i can repair em.

now, once the results are listed in the window, i can right-click in there and choose delete file, it would be just as easy to add a cut/copy option as well. no editing. no pasting. nada.

maybe im missing something...

You can run a scan and remove unneeded files. I recommend you let them go to the backup folder until you are sure you want to delete them.

Let me tell you how I upgrade from one version to the next...
I run CLR Mame Pro with the new mame. I then use the Scanner to fix / remove unneeded files.
Then I download the new roms to C:\cmpro\backup. Using windows explorer I drag the files from C:\cmpro\backup into the Scanner Results window and let CLR Mame Pro rebuild them. Fast scan is run right after to update the Scan Window.

I also use Download Mage so I can download only the parts of the zip file I need. Really handy when a huge file is updated with one prom or something.

basically, add a cut/copy option to the right-click menu of the "warnings windows" in the "rebuilder".

right now i could get something like this after a rebuild displayed in the window:

Corrupt Zipfile:E:\Roms\newroms\finlapjb.zip | Reason: BAD OR CORRUPT END-OF-ZIP STRUCTURE

so, if you added a "cut" or "copy" command right above the existing right-click option "delete file:", we would be able to easily cut that file and paste it somewhere else.

you already have a "delete file : xxx" option there. well, i dont want to delete it, i want to cut it and paste it somewhere else to repair it.

hope this makes some sense ;)
thanks.
