I have found that I almost always get a few incorrect crc32's when I use dat files to scan my romsets.
This is strange, because no matter how many times I replace the problematic roms, the crc32 check always states they're wrong.
For example; If I scan the Jag roms (using the 2.01 dat from this site) the following goes wrong with two roms:
Brutal Sports Football (1994) (Telegames) [folder: Brutal Sports Football (1994) (Telegames)] wrong crc32: Brutal Sports Football (1994) (Telegames).jag [wrong: 0fdceb66] [right: bcb1a4bf]
Music Demo (2002) (ScatoLOGIC) [folder: Music Demo (2002) (ScatoLOGIC)] wrong crc32: Music Demo (2002) (ScatoLOGIC).jag [wrong: 33d8c132] [right: 2ef95c65]
No matter how many times I replace these roms, the issues remain. But I know the sources I use for roms are good. Also- the zip is not corrupt and rezipping these roms makes no difference.
Is there something wrong with Cowering's original GoodTools (are cowering's tools more trustworthy/ dependable?), or maybe in the conversion to dat files?
I guess my question is essentially this: Are those two roms likely to be damaged in some way, or have I configured the scanner wrongly?
Infinite thanks to all for any help!!
