I've just scanned my 0.80 mame rom set with Clr Mame Pro 3.25. In my log file, I am curious about the following lines...

Missing Roms: 150 (150 are 'nodumps') of 69340
Number Of 'nodump' ROMs: 150
Number Of 'baddump' ROMs: 163

Is there something wrong with my ROMs that I can fix,
or is this just telling me about ROMs that _nobody_ has good dumps of?

Nodumps = files that haven't been dumped, usually because they're currently undumpable or because the original dump was incomplete. MAME uses dummy files that contain no data and loads them instead of the real ones.

Bad dumps = files that were incorrectly dumped, and cause errors either in graphics, or when the game is running.

So yeah, it's basically saying that there are files that no one has for the moment, so you shouldn't worry. ^_^

The numbers of bad and nodump roms is correct. It's the number which mame provides. You can't change them unless you redump the original arcade board and send the roms to mamedevelopers.
The missing roms x (x are nodumps) can be ignored. You can replace the missing nodump roms with dummyfiles though. Scanner->nodump handling.

You shouldn't recommend that ;)

I agree it's an option, but really it's a bad choice.
