this shows as not fixed when it tries to rename badly named roms. using latest cmp and xp, the folder always has the readonly bit set but the rom files are not marked as readonly. slightly annoying, any ideas?

Most likely the set already exists in the rompath, so the rename fails. Use Scanner->advanced->move not renamed sets to backup.
