Subjectnfsu2 will so fucking rocks new Reply to this message

Civic (old model, not this new bmw wannabe version) is back (i think that every car that was in nfsu1 will be too), i hope that they put renault clio in (cooler than peugeot 206 imho)

about gameplay, will be a bigger and free (like gta) world
like i was talking with dk, it will be way better than it was in nfsu1 if made correctly

i hope that this time they will let you put your name in the plate (is that right? that thing that shows your car number id)
but i think that the speed meter and map are getting too much space in the screen...

But as much as i hate the 206 myself, i gotta go on the bandwagon and request more european models in the game, all the rice in the first one kinda bored me, not to mention the huge difference between cars, i mean, it had all the nifty upgrade bullshit, but once you got the Skyline you'd never trade in. I say keep all the cars at the same level, with very subtle differences for different playstiles.

I'm still unsure about that idea, but who the hell knows, i'm up for a change. I can always go back to Hot Pursuit 2 if i want some quick fun arcade racing.

You know what, you got me hungry for some racing, i think i'm gonna install a racing game now.

Shit, that won't matter. They'll probably still have the same "rubber band" style AI. They could be driving a 60HP beat up VW and be 2 laps behind but they'll be caught back up to your 500HP car within 10 seconds. fuckers

But i'm pretty sure we'll have to resort to the same tactics from NFSU1, given the aim of the game, the ost is bound to be just as shitty as the 1st.

if they do that, the game will not be realistic, right?? skyline is freaking fast but has shit stability, golf and 206 are very stable but are slower

afaik this free world will be valid to underground/campaign mode
it probably will have a "choose car, choose circuit, play" in the game

Custom soundtrack support. Not requiring you to rice out your car to get into certain events or get bonuses.

More realism too. The S2000 in the game is a great drag car but the handling sucks...wtf is that. And none of that catch up right at the end of the race bullshit.

Isn't it?

Either way, they're both EA, so I figured they'd start resembling each other sooner or later... I've never played NFSU, and I don't really want to.

On a related note, there's a trio of lights downtown that are pretty close together. I've got a habit of hanging my left arm out the window when I drive, so it's always down. Some ricer pulls up next to me, no older than 18 - music so loud, I don't even think HE recognizes it. Like that huge subwoofer bass that rattles everything in the car, making it a series of irritating buzzes, rather than an actual piece of music.

So we're both waiting at this light. It finally goes green, and he nails the gas, squealing his tires to the next red.

Shortly after, I catch up again.

He looks over to my car, and gives this snotty look. The light goes green again, and he squeals off.

Next red, this time he's turning left. Again, I catch up, and I look right at him, giving him that 'Hey you!' nod. He mutes his stereo.

The light goes green. 'Tell your dad I like his car!', I say, driving away.

Because you KNOW a Wendy's salary couldn't 'trick out' a civic like that.

Fucking ricers.

Actually Burnout 3 was the only EA one, they used to be published by Acclaim I believe. They're really made by Criterion, they just get different publishers. It's just a coincidence... I bet the only work EA did was signing the music and putting all the product placement in the game ;)

Burnout 3 reminds me of a lot of games though, like NFSU, NFSHP2 (PS2), Ridge Racer V, but also a lot of Sega Rally/Daytona, except being encouraged to crash into stuff. And when you turn on the boost you also get that tilted camera angle that makes all the cars look really long, like in Daytona. And they're frequently up your ass too, like Daytona. Heh. Burnout 3 just rules, it borrows from all the good games in the genre.

Haw! Yeah it really gets me how people will do anything to get ahead while driving, and they end up behind another red light. Which just induces more road rage. Great cycle there...

Subjectwell the moral of the story... new Reply to this message

...was more the fact that it wasn't his car he was driving, it was likely his dad's. Without a grade 12 education (which he clearly lacked), the jobs around here are ALL minimum wage. Old pops handled the bill for the car, and likely the gas that was in it, I'm sure. And that giant wing on the back that gives the local seagulls penis envy.

But yes, I agree with the "LOOK HOW FUICKING FASST I CAN GO THROUGH DOWNTOWN!!>! I"M TOTALLY IMPRESSING THE METER MAIDS AND THE GUY WALKING HIS DOG!!!!~!" bit. And what's with the creeping ahead at a red light? It's not going to go green based on your distance from it - and it certainly won't 'change it's mind' because you look like you're in a hurry. Just fucking wait, 15 inches closer to your destination won't save that much time in the end.

Hey, I don't care, as long as I get pole. Gives me another chance to work on my launch. And lunch another wannabe Speed Racer with my bone-stock shitbox Cavalier (at least until I back off and use them as bait).

Besides, 90% of the time, all you have to do to get ahead driving out here is drive the speed limit and watch for likely gaps. I bet it's the same way most other places.
