SubjectOpera VS Firefox new Reply to this message

That guy sounds like he's hardly used Mozilla at all, although it's slow and bloated and shitty it can do most of the things this guy wants.

Firefox is where it's at though. Check out this comparison between Opera and Firefox, from the point of view of a longtime Opera user.

The only thing this guy misses is there's an extension for Firefox that does everything in the F12 menu, and as for the rewind/ffwd thing, I guess the guy doesn't know what the little "down" arrow is next to the back/forward buttons. They let you skip back/ahead 12 pages or so. You can also disable images on a per web site basis. But it is an older review, maybe some of those things weren't around then.

I used to use Opera. Good browser but it crashed sometimes. Firefox is similiar and more barebones which I like, and it doesn't crash...ever.

I think he may be slightly retarded. He finishes off his Opera vs Mozilla comparison with a rant about IE. I'd prefer to use Mozilla and Firefox (one for home, one for work) just because they are free and open-source. It does sound cool that Opera is easy to create skins for though - it seems to take ages for a range of properly decent skins to appear for each Mozilla/Firefox release.

i was kinda kidding. instead of putting a link to the new version of mozilla i put a link to an ass talking about why opera is better. that doesn't mean i don't still like opera more, it just means i have a sense of humour about my stubborn attitude in regards to browser choice.

"All in all, I don't care if you use Mozilla or Opera. As long as you're not using IE cause it is teh sux0r. Seriously, it will make your penis smaller."

There's an extesion you can get for Firefox called "Super Drag'n Go", which is THE major feature of MyIE2 that was preventing me to switch. I don't like Maxthon very much, so I'm slowly switching to Firefox.

But you can middle-click on a link to open it in a new tab, how is dragging a link to somewhere blank on the page easier? Oh well, at least it's possible!

SubjectThat's one thing that kept me off Netscape new Reply to this message

That's one thing that kept me off Netscape, the crashing. I liked Netscape a lot during the 4.x days and kept using it until around IE 5.01. I tried to stay off IE because I didn't like the security issues, I hated the way you couldn't organize your bookmarks in any way other than alphabetical, the menus were organized differently, I didn't have e-mail notification (had to open Outlook), etc etc. But Netscape crashed once too many.. and when one Netscape window went down, they all did. And the Mail app would crash frequently, and pissed me off when I was writing long letters, it especially pissed me off when I would browse for a link required in my e-mail and the browser would crash, taking down the mail app too. BLAH!

Firefox made me switch because it was rock solid, fast, and very customizable... Plus I could import all of my settings and they'd work the same on Linux as they would in Windows. It's funny, I'd be in Linux and forget what OS I'm using, I had to look at the taskbar to remember. And I'd never had it crash on me like Netscape would. Awesome!
