Was it just me, or did everything look really stupid?

And not in the sense of ruining the series - in the sense that the special effects looked really fucking stupid. As if the characters were superimposed on those backgrounds using a Pentium 2 333. It reminded me of that old arcade game Pit Fighter...

And the scene where Samuel Jackson 'catches' lightning?

Even the ships flying around looked like some GBA game or something, using pseudo-3d technology.

It'd be some funny shit if the movie really looked like that.

I think it is a fake in fact. I thought that the moment the soundtrack kicked in. Seems to be a good superimposed job though.

It may be real, just a early version of it. We'll find out Friday with The Incredibles.

If it's real, which it looks like it's not. All of the scenes appear spliced, though whoever did it did a good job. And the light saber scene at the end was in the footage of the DVD release in the preview section. And volcano background? C'mon. Either way, it was well done for some joe schmoe.
