Got this game for 10 bucks. Anyone know if theres a way to switch weapons on the main screen? I hate having to go into the equip screen to switch from blaster rifle to blade.

First things first, I'm not really interested in Star Wars other than going to see the movies. I mean it seems intricate and well thought out but I just don't care enough to get into it.

Now about this game, it's crazy boring, at least on XBox. I never thought I'd have to sit through so much loading and generic dialogue in my life. Maybe I'm trigger happy but I couldn't even make it to the first fight in this game. I understand some people think it's a good game though. Is that because lack of anything else to play on XBox? I just found the pacing to really suck in this game.

I thought it was great in Halo how you got no introduction to the story other than a basic intro to the controls, then the enemy shows up, and the rest was explained as you were fighting and pretty much happened before your eyes.

More buggy than Morrowind. Dunno why this sumbitch keeps crashing periodically.

Doesn't seem as polished as their Baldur's Gate series.

I only had problems with crashing when my ram was bugged up, before that, it ran without a hitch. I do recommend saving often just in case though.

I thought the fighting was like FPS or something, I just wanted to try out the actual gameplay, but I couldn't bother to get past the dialog. I thought the game was supposed to be something like Halo or Medal of Honour or Half Life, where you're in the role of a character, and seeing the story through their perspective?

I don't have any problem waiting in games where the dialog is good, but I just don't care enough about Star Wars. I just wanted to make it through the game without having to pay TOO much attention, because I wanted to play it mostly for the gameplay. Since everyone was excited about this game I thought I'd give it a shot.

So what IS KOTOR's core gameplay like if it's not FPS?
