I'm not really that big of a game player anymore. When I say "taking over my life" it actually means "taking up about 2 hours a day of my life."

I'm in the Fortress of Wind right now in the Castor Woods.

Is Minish Cap shorter compared to Zelda 3 on the SNES?
And what about Zelda DX on GBC?

people say you have 5 dungeons, but it's more like 6 to me... I guess people don't count the final one as a dungeon, but still it's hard enough to be one.

So 6 dungeons, 4 artifacts to get, that's it, nothing more, no master quest, no dark world

btw, 6 dungeons and 4 artifacts-> 1 for each artifact + 1 artifact you realize you have to get in another dungeon + final dungeon

At least I liked the originality of some items (I haven't played the 3d zeldas, so I don't know if they are in them)

I've all ready completed the 1st dungeon & got the earth element.
So I've completed about 20% of the game all ready?!
That sucks.
Zelda 3 had about 12 dungeons.
I don't know about Zelda DX on GBC... But some like it better than Zelda 3.

Why all new games are so short?
Minish Cap.
Zone of Enders 2
Even Doom3 felt a bit short to me (Lack of secret sections & Levels, etc..)

I don't unerstand why people still buy all the new crap?
It's clear that most companies make rushed-short games for a quick & easy buck.

The only thing that keeps you playing after you beat it is matching every kinstone, except that some you missed earlier you can't go back, like in the library, there's a guard in front of it and you can't enter anymore.

So by matching these, you unlock rupees, heart containers, sword techniques, and even more pieces of kinstone... when you got them all, you got teh soundtest yo! Is it worth it? I don't think so.

Any chance to play this without knowing a thing about Zelda & friends?

Since it's short, I may give it a shot.

OKKAY!

They always seem to use the same basic characters, in the same "universe", but it's never a sequel or anything. It's always a re-telling of a basic plot AFAIK.

Play away without a worry, it's good fun, and if you like it, check the other titles.

I myself only played Ocarina of Time and a short bit of Majora's Mask, am playing this one now, with Link to the past on my to-play list.

Gives us a kiss precious.

Start with Zelda 3 on the SNES, by far the best Zelda game.
Better than Minish Cap in the gameplay, music & story department.

Minish Cap has the best graphics though.

I've a sneaking suspicion it may be something to do with prices. Here in the UK, every new SNES game was £50 (approx 75-80USD) (maybe £40 - can't really remember any more), and there was no such thing as the Platinum range. Nowadays, games are £30-or-so brand new. Who's lost out on that £10 (although, those on Disc-based-systems are probably a bit cheaper to design and manufacture.)? Is it the shops, the distributors, or the games makers. Maybe all 3. Maybe I've ceased to care while typing this. Maybe you've ceased caring while reading it...

If games are shorter & less quality in them, then that should justify the drop in prices.

But still they ask too much for what they're giving!
I remember R-Type III on the SNES back in 1995, costed about 60 pounds!

But that game was very inovative & arcade quality graphics, unlike most other of it's time.

How long is Zelda DX compared to Zelda 3 on the SNES?
How many dungeons?

zelda dx has 8 dungeons, plus a little final one at the end, quite a good game, I own it (not the dx version though)

zelda 3, this one has much more, can't remember how exactly but if I count the dungeon at the beginning, it should be around 13... excellent game, I own the french canadian cart, wooo
