Seems like the scenery in the movies is similar to that of Castlevania. I wonder who created the first imagery of Dracula's castle.

I had some drinks, my post ionakjblhahlala

I'd like to see something like where the creatures in Castlevania originated from because they all seem to be from old stuff I've seen over time. Medusa, Frankenstein, etc.

I had the same feeling when I watched it at the drive in this summer.

Unfortunately the game is far from being as good as castlevania.

The movie is terrible. If you're down for a bad movie then you'll love it. Grab the popcorn, the soda, and get a bunch of friends together and you'll have a blast.

as good as the 3D castlevania PS2 or as good as 2D ones?

Gamefaqs reviews seemed to have pegged it at as a 7 or 8, which seems to be about what people gave Castlevania for PS2 but I felt it was overrated.

Some hate it, some like it. I like it plenty enough, but not enough to warrant buying it at the going rate. If I found it at a garage sale or in the $9 bin at Target we'll talk.

I haven't played the 3D Castlevania either. I am wondering though, anyone hear if Konami will release it for PC? They've done this in the US (to a degree) and Japan greatly on the PC about a year after the release of the PS2 versions.

I'd likely (yah I admit it) pirate it if it were JP only, but if American I'd test it...and if it didn't blow I'd go pick a copy up as I am one of those rare types that still pay for work that is worth the cost.

the disgust of watching every universal monster i love being raped so badly is paramount to any amount of enjoyment i'd get from the damnable thing.

I'd buy it just because it's Castlevania and I'm a huge fan, and only because of that. It's fun for Castlevania fans just because when you're playing it you're enjoying seeing everything in 3D for the first time, because it does look very good. You'll like seeing all of the monsters you're used to, the cool bosses. If you're an average gamer you'll hate the game because it's highly repetitive and unrewarding aside from the cool combo extensions you earn, but really you'll just be doing the same moves over and over anyway so even that gets stale. If they made it 3D, why not at least aim for something like Devil May Cry 2? Nothing makes this game special except for the fact that it's Castlevania. If it were anything else it would have been rated pretty bad. The experience is so monotonous. I have to ask myself why they released it at all.

They made the PS2 version because of the sales of the GBA versions, but they should have made it high res 2D or something like Contra Hard Corps. They should have picked Symphony of the Night as a point to evolve from, not done something mediocre from scratch just to shoehorn the franchise into 3D. At least they did it themselves instead of the Apalooza Contra debacle on PSX.

On a seperate note, where's that Castlevania III remake? I would love to see that become a reality! If they took Castlevania III as a starting point and totally blew it up to a full Symphony-style game, that would be what I would imagine a PS2 Castlevania being. Multiple characters, cool setting...

How would you say they're being raped? I haven't seen it. But I'm somewhat a fan of monsters...

Halcyon it's not my first 3D castlevania experience with that one once/if I get my hands on it. I had both CV64 and Legacy of Darkness. CV64 convinced me not to trust all CV games anymore. I had learned after I had it and got rid of it Konami forced out a 40% complete game with camera, physics, and collision issues.

Legacy of Darkness which came out a year later was the game all the previews of old showed with the Knights Story and the CV64 part being last while emphasizing the Wolfman's story as the main title. Game is an absolute treasure with great collision, cleaned up camera, fixed physics, the full real adventure intact for all parts...etc. A real grade-A castlevania title by any means of the word.

I agree too that a nice remake of the old CVs, and I think 3 may work best would be nice to see for sure.
