SubjectWell, i'm fucked gaming wise... Reply to this message

My PSU got help up by the fucking feds ( illegal importing and what not ), but i hadn't payed for it, so if somebody gets shafted for the money, it's the importer ( dealt with him before, fucking retard, but the only one who could get me a TT around here was him.

There's only a chance of me getting the damn thing by late January if so, so untill then i'm stuck playing snes/genesis/gba games and other much older games, because if i use anything that relies heavily on my GPU, the fucking comp resets.

So, anybody got some suggestions to fill my gaming cravings. I've already went through Zelda Minish cap, Zelda LttP, am about to finish Mario and Luigi Superstar and have Mario RPG and Yoshi's Island lined up.
What good stuff would you recommend on the GBA/SNES/Genesis/Old PC lineup?

Gives us a kiss precious.

That series is totally the cat's pajamas. There's tons of great SNES and Genesis RPGs with battle systems that range from real time to turn based to everything inbetween. Strategy games like Warsong and Super Famicom Wars are always fun, and I strongly recommend checking out those SNES Shin Megami Tensei games at some point.

Phantasy Star 2 and 4 could always use another play through (I keep telling myself that but never get around to playing them again.. going on 10 years now... :( )

Mostly GBA stuff: Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls (I and II remade with better graphics and more dialogs), all the Metroids, all the 'Vanias, Advance Wars 1 & 2, FF Tactics advance, Harvest Moon GBA, Fire Emblem, Golden Sun.

Oldschool DOS: Master of Magic, Master of Orion, Master of Magic, Afterlife (hard as hell but weird and hence funny), the Ur-Quan Masters (open source star control 2 port), Ultima 7 (+ extension), Ultima 6, Cobra Mission (hentai RPG, not too bad for its genre),

Extreme oldschool from gramps: Short Circuit (Apple II), Robot Rascals (Apple II, play with cards and friends! [print the cards from a site]), Clone Wars (Apple II), Addictaball (C64), Hunchback (C64), Ace of Aces (c64), Defender of the Crown (Amiga), Maupiti Island (Amiga), Super Cauldron (PC or Amiga?).

Ok I'll stop because I can be going at this all day... :)

maybe it was Valis II, on PCE, it was good, i want to play that through again sometime this summer.

Rushing Beat is a sure fun.. hour long and requires no brain, good for a really hot night, where thinking is not an option.

also, El Viento is quite good, if you're into it a lot, and why the hell not, Saint Sword is a great little gem to play (both on Genesis).

on snes there's always the classics, Skyblazer and Goof Troop is 100% fun. And if you're into it Actraiser might hold you up for a while..

som Turrican games are also fun.

and if you're into the shmup world, try Arrows Flash on the Genesis (its NOT good, but weirdly enough, i can't stop playing it, after i start).

anyway, that's all i can think right now..

valis 2 was awesome when it came out. standard gameplay, but the cinema scenes made up for it. load times were pretty bad though. i remember valis 3 had a lot more "animated" (3 frame) cinema scenes, too. if you're looking for a good cd game with HORRIBLE voice acting, check out final zone 2. damn theme music for it is insane...turbografx is always going to be one of my favorite consoles. always felt like i was playing games on it that should never have been released in the us.

  • Alone in the Dark 1
  • Ecstatica
  • Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure series
  • Commander Keen series
  • Out of this World
  • Flashback
  • Lollypop
  • Color Buster
I had a lot of fun with Color Buster. It's a great
little 'move the blocks' game that I'd never seen advertised.
