Now I just got the collector's edition HL2 package, Zelda: Windwaker, and Metroid Prime 2. Not only do I have to play HL2 but I have to play through HL: Source =) And fuck all the Metroid Prime naysayers. I just picked it up after not playing it in almost a year and I already had the controls down the second I picked them up. I still fail to see where this game is so savagely hindered by controls as to render it worthless.

[INSERT METROID PRIME HOLY WAR]

Bitches.

Maybe not. Merry Christmas to you, your wife, and the new addition to your family.

Got it recently too, I'm only about 3 hours into it (still haven't gotten a light or dark beam) and it's pretty good. Like everyone says, the newness of the series is worn off but man, it's fun to play another Metroid Prime again. Still, it's like the Majora's Mask of Metroid games. A Metroid game without much about Metroids. Weird. At least they didn't fuck it up like Fusion with the long-winded computer and cramped levels. It would kick ass if you could unlock Super Metroid, or even (especially) an updated Metroid II. Come on man. If you're updating classics, pay attention to the ones that deserve it.

If Metroid Prime was a 3D homage to the original Metroid, they should also pay tribute to Super Metroid in the next Metroid Prime game...

I love the way the new physics engine adds ever so slightly to the gameplay experience. I'm just miffed that you can't gib bodies anymore.

It's savagely hindered only later in the game when the bot like pirates bomb around and you have to stand there like a bullseye, hold R, aim, then hit I think it was Z for a lock so THEN you can strafe and fire on equal ground.

That aside the game owns serious time and can be picked up regardless instantly to be played like a seasoned player once more.

Good haul you got there too.

My frickin' left index finger is KILLING me after an hour or two of playing. The amount of pressure you have to apply to get the shoulder buttons down(and stay down) is brutal on gaming. I can't imagine what young children have to do to deal with this.
