I finally bought myself my own computer. Let's see: I now have an Athlon 2500 with Windows XP Home SP2, 512 MB RAM, an 80 GB hard drive, a 52x CD-rom, a 52x32x52x Cd-RW, a 17" monitor and some kickass stereo speakers with a subwoofer. The problem with the speakers is that they all don't fit well on my desk so one of them has to sit on the floor. So far, it's a great system. EVERYTHING runs faster, even Sun Java (heheh). I can now play my games at acceptable framerates. I didn't know Microsoft made a Windows XP install disk "slipstreamed" with SP2; that saves me a bit of work. Well, back to testing!!

Well actually, we're giving it away to friends of ours in town here after we wipe the old drive. Sorry about that. BTW, what's the difference between wiping a drive and formatting a drive? Oh, and what's the best OS for a PII 350 MHz machine with 64 MB RAM? I could put Windows 98 SE back on with the unofficial service pack as that works awfully nice, however I kinda acquired that in a way I shouldn't have...
