Now that i finally got back to playing some decent games, i thought i'd post this reccuring topic.

I recently finished:

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories ( pretty meh, but the battle system is less annoying than most RPGs. BTW, what the fuck is it with Square and abnoxiously complex last bosses? )
Mario Golf Advance Tour ( pretty fun, but no big thing )
Prince of Persia SoT ( FINALLY i was able to continue playing this and just finished today. Awesome fun and simply beautifull game, shame it's so terribly short. )

I'm now gonna play Prince of Persia Warrior Within and finish up my long delayed dark-side run of SW-KOTOR. I've got Half Life 2 installed too, but i'm gonna have to wait on a new mouse to continue.

Remaining on the "to-play" list are LOTR-Battle for Middle Earth, Chronicles of Riddick and Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines, also waiting anxiously for SW-KOTOR 2 in the coming weeks.

actually what sux is i have probably the fastest pc then any of you guys & the guys from ec, but i can't play shit right now 'cuz my monitor starts to fuxxor up unless i keep the refresh @ 100hz and every game is gay gay gay since they force the refresh down to 60hz.

i've only been holding off 'cuz i plan on ditching my current desk for a desk that can hold a bigger monitor. then i'll see if i can get this 19" monitor fixed and give it to my mom and then go get me a 21" monitor. dis nigga is getting old and can't see rez too well if i go above 1280x800.

Well currently I was playing Zelda Minish Cap today. But I should finish off the remaining parts of FF2 and KHCOM at some point. I never did get around to finishing Mario Golf either as it's so subpar and a lil buggy (with wind being ignored at times) over the gBC original.

I do have a mostly finished game of Call of Duty and Tales on GCN...and little done into FF:CC. I also have been poking away here n' there on my DS games too. Also I put a nice 6+ hour run on Civilization2 yesterday/today(morning) too.

Force games to run at 100Hz by running DXDiag then going to the More Help tab and click Override and change it to 100.

After all the noise made about that rally game it's not even better than the rally mode in Gran Turismo 3, and especially not better than rally mode in GT4.

hell, GT itself isn't that hot of a game. I'm a little disappointed in how Richard Burns Rally turned out (for all the hype, the physics just had too many quirks...similar to Gran Turismo). I really wish Yu Suzuki would field a team to develop a rally game on par with F355... but i guess it'd dip a little too far into the realm of "realisim" which doesn't overlap with the realm of "fun" very well most of the time

I've died a hand full of times now. Some of those bosses just had me ripping my hair out. That friggin' spider ball boss was such a shit.

that didn't work by itself, but when i went back and set the rez to 100hz using nvidia's refresh rate tool (again, had done it before by itself on a previous windows installation but it didn't work) it worked.

I can see why people think that but I also see why some think it's pretty sweet. I think the Rally mode has the best phyisics of any I've tried though... along with normal driving. However the fact that you can't go off course is probably what makes it suck.

Yeah... at least the way F355 came out. You only like it if you're an enthusiast. It's like he can't go half way. It's either Outrun or F355. At least both make some people happy...

I could never get their fucken tool to work. It can go to fucking hell for all I care. But at least it worked for you ;)

It seems more difficult, but some bosses in Metroid Prime had me ripping my hair out too, like the ice monster and that thing where you have to blow off different parts of its armor and then hunt it down with a certain visor and kick its ass with a certain weapon, and do all that shit over again.

I haven't encountered anything that bad in Metroid Prime 2 yet, but I'm only as far as beating that worm thing attached to a ball of dark matter or whatever. As you can tell I don't read anything I scan.

I haven't gotten the spider ball yet, but I guess I'll see when that happens! Would you say the game is longer than the original?

I'm saying it worked for me with installing my monitor's INF file and using dxdiag but not with nVidia's tool.

It's been a while since I played Prime 1 but this one seems to be taking a lot longer. I'm not trying to get all items either. I've had it since Xmas and I still haven't beaten through it. Since you're only on that boss wait til you see the rest =P There's one boss fight where you're surrounded by toxic water swinging from platform to platform with your grappling beam while being pulverized by a boss that can ONLY be attacked from one side and you have to attack multiple points on its wings by using the multi-lock missiles...and you only make it to that bastard after you've killed a boss before it. You've got a long way to go.

my monitor's inf file doesn't mean shit as far as xp is concerned.
hell, what really makes me mad, is even if you modify the modes.txt it doesn't mean shit.
i've edited out tons of extra vid modes and all the refresh rates except for 100hz on all the ones that will work @ 100hz on my monitor but yet everything is still there (modes & refresh rates).

Great dojin fighter game, only three attack buttons but it works god damn it.

Man I just remembered something important, I forgot I had to modify it in the nVidia drivers to get the resolutions I wanted (like 1360x1020 and 1416x1056), for some reason it wasn't in my monitor's inf file, here is pretty much what I did.

They're still using low res artwork for character animation?
