Remember me? The guy who's hardware dies every other week?

I was having some more problems with my machine lately, so i went to my friend's house yesterday ( the one who works with and sells comps and parts ) and he set me up with a new mobo, albeit shittier (ASRock), a new case and the 512 stick of ram he owed me.

We fiddle around, get everything up and running, install windows again, but guess what's dying on me now? The fucking video card, just about the most expensive fucking thing in this machine ( Radeon 9500 128 ). We tried just about everything driver wise, even tried putting some thermal paste on the card's core, still, nothing works.

Now i either get a reset and massive artifacts or just a complete gpu failure when trying to play some game.

So now i'm fucked 3 ways to sunday. My only option is to suck it up, take one up the ass and dig into my investment funds.

What would you suggest i get? I'm fucked anyways, so i figure i'd get something in the Geforce 6 or ATI X#00 families. Those exist for AGP right?
And what about a mobo? If i'm getting fucked, i might as well get a decent one. What would you reccomend for an XP 2800+, at least DDR 333 and with onboard sound and LAN? Nothing by Asus, please, i've had enough bullshit because of that shitty AVX8-X.
