Khypermedia is crap.
Teon is crap.

Use DVDInfoPro on your DVDs to find out what the media code is. Then do a
Google search on that media code, to be sure.

Anything with 'Yuden' in it is good. Taiyo Yudens are the
best in terms of quality, whether it is for DVD-R or DVD+R
discs.

Look for Sony DVD+R 50 pack spindles that have "Made in
Japan" on them. "Made in Taiwan" packs are average at
best - avoid them. The 'Made in Japan' packs are genuine
Taiyo Yudens. This is also true for Fuji DVDs.

You can buy Taiyos at Rima.com. They have great prices and reliability.

The burn may go without a hitch, but several months down
the road the disc will become unreadable.

Wait, Disney already tried that, yes?

Check this site out.

Ok princo budget are crap, but princo A looks good, had them for almost a year now and no problems, same for princo cd-r that I had for years

Of course, I always take good care of my cd and dvds, no scratch what so ever on any of them, always in mint condition

Till someone comes up and gives me proof that princo A are crap, I'll keep buying those 50 spindle for 21$ CAN, taxes included

Er hum, ok I didn't even read that link you gave me, I did a search for princo on the page, found nothing and closed it

oh and hey, I'm drunk! SUNDAY NIGHT ROCKS

the only thing i haven't used (atleast that i know of) is teon, and i haven't had any issues with anything i through in my drive (including princo & khypermeida).

my only issues that my 16x sony won't burn any 8x disc @ 8x anymore, even with their version of burn proof it will still coaster. but i can burn them @ 6x ok. though i am thinking it might be this install of windows i am using 'cuz that's around the time it started. i haven't had time to try a fresh install of windows to see if that takes care of it.

I don' understand why when a CD is burned ok & after a few months i becomes unreadable?

I mean what happens?
The CD burned area gets disolved or something?

This has happened to me with "good" brands like Vervatim aswell!
But not as often as BASF! Those discs suck!
But yeah Princo suck.

The companies use cheap dyes and substandard materials,
hence the low prices.

I can stand cheap in many areas of my life but not with
archiving information.

Think cheap power supplies. They don't cost much, but
what happens long term?

Taiyo Yudens are the way to go, whether DVDs or CDs.

There's tiny mini micro mushrooms that starts growing after some years and makes the disc unreadable.
