The first song (the hand that feeds?) sounded okay. The other I didn't like.

I seem to have outgrown this band, which has grown steadily worse since pretty hate machine.

Was the fragile - and I've heard that, from many nin fans, it's the largest departure from typical nin music.

That 'hand that feeds' song sounded pretty cool. Can't really hear enough of the other song. He's got a pretty cool voice, it sounds pretty cool when he strains it a little bit.

the live version of nin play the live sets much harder.
when i saw them live, during the fragility tour, the set they played was borderline thrash metal versions of nin's songs (sans the ambient instrumentals, those where the same as the albums).

as for the new album, i'm really looking forward to it and hoping for the best. especially since i could have made 1 cd out of the 2 from fragility.

Some of their stuff is certainly enjoyable (Head Like A Hole comes to mind), but I always thought Trent Reznor was vastly overrated. I suppose NIN is pretty solid for a radio rock band.
