It's all due to them opening up Bittorrent file forums - word spread like wildfire and thusly attracted the complete wrong sort of person.

This turned off a lot of the older posters who actually had said skills to pay the bills, causing them to leave. Because of this, a lot of great photoshoppers have left, never to return.

SA also re-uses the same jokes over and over at the moment; it feels stale and needs some new blood as Lowtax has seriously burnt out all of his great ideas.

Don't get me wrong - the forums are still fantaastic, but the main site needs an editorial revamp if it is to achieve its glory days.
