Who Should You Vote For?

Who should I vote for?

Your expected outcome:

Liberal Democrat

Your actual outcome:

Labour -19
Conservative -7
Liberal Democrat 14
UK Independence Party 17
Green 26

You should vote: Green

The Green Party, which is of course strong on environmental issues, takes a strong position on welfare issues, but was firmly against the war in Iraq. Other key concerns are cannabis, where the party takes a liberal line, and foxhunting, which unsurprisingly the Greens are firmly against.

Voting for a minority party is akin to supporting a pressure group. Mainstream parties often seek expertise and advice from the minority groups on particular issues when they realise that they are missing out on certain key voter groups. This is how third and fourth party groups can have affects on policy without ever entering de facto government. Thus you won't have to worry about hippies in the house of commons.

Odd thing is, I'm for the Euro and not hugely fussed about Imigration.

Your expected outcome:

Conservative

Your actual outcome:

Labour -14
Conservative -1
Liberal Democrat 16
UK Independence Party 26
Green 19

You should vote: UK Independence Party

UKIP's primary focus is on Europe, where the party is strongly against joining both the EU constitution and the Euro. UKIP is also firmly in favour of limiting immigration. The party does not take a clear line on some other policy issues, but supports scrapping university tuition fees; it is strongly against income tax rises and favour reducing fuel duty.

Your actual outcome:

Labour -8
Conservative -37
Liberal Democrat 56
UK Independence Party -9

You should vote: Liberal Democrat

The LibDems take a strong stand against tax cuts and a strong one in favour of public services: they would make long-term residential care for the elderly free across the UK, and scrap university tuition fees. They are in favour of a ban on smoking in public places, but would relax laws on cannabis. They propose to change vehicle taxation to be based on usage rather than ownership.

I'd never vote liberal over here, I guess despite having the same name, they have different views.

I read the Independant and the Guardian, but following this questionairre, I guess I should switch to something which is a little more... Right Wing. Also - another pro of reading the Mail is you get all those fantastic 'BAN THIS SICK FILTH' articles (Usually from Mellanie Phillips or Christopher Tookey) AND it has those hilarious comic strips which add a cherry to the already fantastic package.

We all know that these polls are SCIENTIFIC FACT and that because of the outcome of this Qustionairre I will now become a fully fledged flag waver of the UKIP, BIP or BNP. I'm voting how I want to vote - likely Labour or Tories (Haven't got a feel right now - too busy with final year project).

So, my point is I've drunk too much Orangeboom already. I guess I'll go down the local club, 'ave a fight and a kebab.

PS - Good to see you on the boards again :)

Have you seen the Daily Mail-o-Matic? Class.

Anyway, enough ranting. It's good to see you're still active on the boards. I guess it's a sign of how degenerate my life has become that I've been dragged back into them ... :oP

Maybe it's the fact that I don't know UK politics and terms.
