gay. politics brought to the forefront so intensely that every show is a very specific topical 'message show'. so gay. old simpsons episodes played out like traditional morality plays and thus the morals were not so specifically tailored to the world around us. i have no problem AT ALL with moralistic shows about current politics, but the simpsons these days has no subtlety about being less fun, more chastising. moreover, it's just boring now.
