SubjectUpgrading my brakes new Reply to this message

From a 10" rotor to a 12". Well I get all the parts, and guess what? Auto Zone has the wrong caliper brackets. UGH!!!
I was so upset and it was late at night, that I put the old brakes back on wrong. Gotta love that metal to metal sound. So guess what I'm doing this morning?

If your current brakes can break traction on your tires, you would only need better brakes to prevent fade.

No, I'm not tracking it. The current brake setup has a problem with fade. This has been a complaint since the car came out in '89. The 1996 model solved this by going with a larger rotor (12") and with a different caliper bracket, it can be adapted to the 94-95 models. The 89-93 require the 94-95 steering knuckle.

Just for giggles if you want to know my 1/4 mile time: 14.42@99mph w/2.13 60'. Not bad for a 3600lbs 4 door sedan.
