SubjectFINALLY, i have a decent PC... Reply to this message

After long months in wait, i got my shit together, with the exception of a SATA HD. Had to cough up a little more to get an 6800 GT instead of a 6600 GT because if i were to wait for that, it'd take another month if i ever even got it at all.
My friend lost a pretty big shipment of merchandise a week back, which included the 6600 GT and 120GB SATA HD, so he sold me his 6800 instead, both to keep his word with me and because he needed the money to cover some losses. Can't say i dislike the performance gain, but the price sure is overkill for my pocket.

Got a pretty decent no-break, an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe and the 6800 GT, and now i'm just waiting on an 128MB memory stick for my cybershot P73 and an 160GB SATA HD.

I sure gotta get cracking on the traslation job i got from another friend if i wanna have the money to cover all that i owe him.

Finally i can do some decent gaming. I started playing GTA SA on max possible detail, then switched back to the minimum i was running it on before, i couldn't believe i have been playing that poorly all this time, the difference is staggering.

There's just so much on the waiting list i don't know where to start...

Doom 3 RoE
HL 2
KOTOR 2
Chronicles of Riddick
FarCry
LOTR - BFME
PoP WW ( i was so close to the end, this goes to the top of the list )
Vampire - Bloodlines
And probably even re-playing GTA SA, now with a decent performance. ( i'm almost done with all the missions )

There's probably a bunch more i didn't remember. Damn, i better do some serious time-management for this month, gotta make the best outta this vacation time.

The Master would not approve of this sig.

Your mobo rocks, btw. I bought a K7 Turbo Limited Edition, but the Asus was my second choice.

I'm STILL Rick James, bitch

This game sucks ass. I bought it a few weeks ago, and can't play for more than 10 minutes without getting frustrated with such retarded gameplay. The "grabber" reminds me of dark forces 2, where you get to chuck stuff at your enemies...if you can find it. Only less fun. It's not like half life 2 where everything is movable, only few barrels that happen to be there when the enemies are, too. Completly asshole.

> HL 2

Good game. Physics rock, since they're put to good use. Flows really well.

Another cool one, worth a shot

> FarCry
Like it, but i'm stuck at a part on can't get past. I stopped playing in april, started yesterday again att the same part, and i still can't beat it.

Other than that, good game.

XP 2800, 1GB DDR 333, A7N8X-E Deluxe mobo, 6800 GT 256MB DDR3 video card, 7.1 onboard sound, 480W thermaltake PSU, 16x DVD-RW, 40x CDRW, 60GB 5400rpm HD, 80GB 7200rpm HD, 17" flatscreen CRT.
Only thing that could be improved is the CPU, but i can't afford the shit i got now, let alone a new CPU. :-P

The Master would not approve of this sig.

I'm running:
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
Shuttle mobo w/nForce 2 chipset w/5.1 sound and LAN
512Mb PC2700
200gb Western Digital
16x DVD-Rom
40x12x48 CD-RW
Radeon 9600 Pro w/128Mb

So to say that you only have a "decent" PC is an understatement.

To at least 2GB.

A Celeron 333 can run WinXP and a good number of programs well as long
as there is plenty of RAM.

My upgrade strategy order: 1. RAM 2. CPU 3. Hard drive 4. Video card
