Is it just me or does it seem like consoles are launching with less and less "must have" titles?

I'm not picking on the machine, it seems pretty cool actually (and both X-box and Gamecube can rightfully be accused of the same thing) I'm just saying that looking at it's launch titles there just doesn't seem to be very many "hits" to get.

And how in the world are they going to make a fall ship date when practically none of the games seem to be fully realized? Either this is a seriously concerted effort to hold everything to the vest, or there are a heck of a lot of games not going to make this Christmas.

Like Madden 360 is still leaking still shots from a pre-rendered trailer (which they are selling as game footage) and Perfect Dark Zero is only showing prototype art about 90 days prior to supposed shipping, and these were some of the few examples I could find.

Any thoughts?

Not only did it have great launch games, but it was the last console that blew me away with the visuals. While playing Soul Caliber for the first time, I just kept repeating "These graphics are awesome!" My mom had to tell me that I already said that 3 times before.
