Note for the future: modchips don't travel well via USPS, at least for me =)

OK, so I'm 98% sure I have two perfectly working X-Boxes that simply have hard drives that aren't locked.

Anyone know what I can do from here? Basically, how can I lock the hard drives w/o a chip, and then do a soft-mod from there?

on the 1.6, I get error code 5, which I read is HDD not locked.

on the 1.0, no error code, just the service needed message.

thanks for the link, i'll check it all out.
