Where do you find info in English about modifying these cars? A friend's boyfriend got one and acts like he doesn't know what to do with it.

SubjectIs it GTR? If not, why bother modding. new Reply to this message

Non-GTRs are somewhat mild in performance compared to the GTR.

Although, you could say why bother modding a GTR as it is already plenty fast and handles great.

Anything aftermarket you'll obviously have to get from Japan and it's going to be expensive.

It's an R33 GT-R V-spec Alpha Gold Turbo Champion Edition.

I've found some info about what to do with an RB25 motor but this has the 2.6 litre twin-turbo motor. I've found info on an Aussie board; just toss in some bigger fuel injectors, fuel pump, swap out the turbos and cams and it should do at least 400HP at the wheels with tuning.

Yeah, like the SR20DE, I've heard that it can take quite a bit of boost on stock internals.

as R33's and their GTR Brethren are all too common down here in australia (in comparison to the US and your Supra fever) Tell him to chuck on 2x HKS GTRS turbo's and consider some bigger injectors etc :P

SubjectSo people down there don't usually go single? new Reply to this message

Up here in the US people most commonly toss the twin setup on the Supras and just go with one big turbo. Do folks in AU usually stick with two turbos on the GT-Rs? I browsed one AU Skyline forum and only read some info on an RB25 motor, I'll probably look more later.

500hp at the crank, and 385 at the wheels? Damn, talk about drive train loss. This is what I like to see: http://panamapat.no-ip.info/SHO/Vid/SHO_Dyno.mpg

You SHO guys just can't stop talking about the SHO can you?

Keep in mind the Skyline GTR is AWD so it has more drivetrain loss. On the other hand you get awesome traction and can destroy people off the line.

He's now over 700hp at the crank. Not bad for an s/c'd 3.2L engine.
