So I've been using them more than just often lately. When it comes to downloading recent things like movies, music, and games, I'll usually get from newsgroups since it's fast and I don't have to share but torrents have proven to be VERY useful for finding GOOD porn, heheh. Sharing large files like 5GB DVD-R movies sucks because I can only upload at a max of 48k/s but I upload to at least a 1.0 ratio, I'd like my video card fan to last more than a year so I like to shut off my computer at night when I can; when sharing I just leave it on.

Never bothered looking at newsgroups because all I had was outlook express and downloading 140305623 parts one by one is a wee bit tedious. Got something to get the stuff easily?

As for torrents, I thought about leeching with my xbox with linux installed. I had a few problems with ports though. Also I wanted to get another distro so I deleted xebian, turns out the other distro can't be installed unless you have the exact same setup as the guy who did it, it's a shame, it was the first with 3d acceleration. I wanted to play tuxracer on my xbox damnit.

Anyway, I did manage to run azureus on it, so it's a nice alternative to running a pc all night long, like I do. It's next to my bed, and it has a volcano 11 fan.... the wistle go WOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOO

Probably one of the best free newsgroup readers. Last time I used Outlook for newsgroups it was a mess, I think you had to convert the files from uucode or something. GrabIt will download files and process them so when you download an MP3 it actually comes out as an MP3 on your computer, heh.

Yep, it's a nice piece of software. It even informs you of the updates.
