Subjectanother help (dvd playing) Reply to this message

After the troubles last nite, i was trying to play a dvd at a fresh install, and it stutters a little bit (it start happening a couple of days ago (probably, i just noticed then, anyway)).

I tried to play in MPC (both 6.8.2 (or something) and lastest) and it sttuters a little bit (each 20 seconds or something) and in lastest MPC it desyncs audio and video). What is bugging me, is that this never happened before, and its happening to discs that i have watched on this same drive and mpc version. (all originals).

i was bound to try other players (at least it seems like a player problem) such as powerdvd, but yo know, they're not free and such... (looks at washington... see nothing..)

any tips on what might be ?

Did you remember to nuke all of your codecs and just install ffdshow? You could also try VideoLAN Client (which uses portions of ffdshow).

Subjectyep, no codecs installed, fresh install of windows. new Reply to this message

(for video recording, it was okay (following your instructions) before the re-install (i will do as you told again tomorrow).

but for dvd playing ?
if you say so, i might try, but i dont think that is it..

I get the same problem (desyncing audio) if I use SPDIF output on the DVD's but thats with Power DVD. I just use a different audio option and everything is fine.
