SubjectWhat are you emulating? Reply to this message

Just curious, what are you guys playing via emulators right now? In light of a resurgance of X-Com love on Something Awful, I started playing a little X-Com in DOSbox which lead to playing the beta release of Alien Invasion (basically a 3d X-Com clone built with the Quake 2 sourcecode), and now I'm putzing with Rebelstar Tactical Command on GBA.

Beyond that, I'm really just holding out for the release of pSX Emulator that supports flawless Colony Wars emulation (though I'm tempted to play through Valkyrie Profile with it while I wait!). Been busy with moving so I haven't have a whole lot of time to game (other than occasional spurts of Phoenix Wright on DS).

I was hoping to get some Ibara played this weekend but I spent the time working on the new house (building a fence and whatnot)

Playing through super mario 2J on the PC - it's actually quite difficult, and I wonder if they decided to give us doki doki panic because of this?

Other than that, I've got pocketnes on the GBA, which I fire up on the crapper at work. Savestating my way through Bomberman 1 and the original Gradius. Also working through Journey To Silius (which has an awesome soundtrack for an NES game). Random attempts at making it through Rescue: The Embassy Mission round out the group.

Christ, it's all NES shit.

where?

speaking of xcom, it was just a couple days ago that i learned that terror from the deep (the only one i ever played) was almost exactly the same game as the original, with the difficulty level locked into the "batshit insane" setting.

I've been meaning to give Persona 2 another go for a long time now. Don't think it's going to happen before I play Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 :(

I never really cared for the second game. Like you mentioned, the difficulty level was cranked way too fucking high and I hated reresearching shit that I should have already known from the first game. That game was such a sloppy cash in :( Apocalypse was at least an attempt to do something new, even if it wasn't all that successful.

DoD got me into Metal Gear MSX this month.
And i just finished playing through PS1 on MekaW (great game, great system, great emulator, so i will keep on that track for a while). Also, i finished Megaman I again, (using LoopyNES on a DOS system i was working on, great emulator, too bad it misses save stating). and i want to give it my MagicEngine some more love.
