SubjectRPGs! new Reply to this message

Hmm, Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne was fun, but the difficulty curve is off the hook. I hear Digital Devil Saga is a good bit better, but I've yet to devote the proper time to it.

Dark Cloud 2 may cure your short term RPG blues, but it's doubtful it'll hold your interest long enough to finish it.

Disgaea has a great storyline, some fucking brilliant voice acting, and a combat system that both encourages levelgrinding like a motherfucker and keeps it interesting.

Monster Hunter has wonky controls, but it's pretty much a 3dish Diablo/Guild Wars with wonky combat controls

Okage is supposed to be somewhat interesting. Haven't spent any time with it yet.

Star Ocean 3 is badass with a few critical flaws that you can only overcome with a faq or strat guide (the combat system isn't explained at all ingame and the invention system is reasonably important and yet horribly documented ingame). Loved the storyline, combat system, graphics, animations, music, etc in it. Some of the worst voice acting of the current generation, though :(

For something a little different, have you thought about maybe picking up Way of the Samurai or Blood Will Tell?

SubjectRPGs are for girls. play something more manly like Call of Duty 3. -nt- new Reply to this message

I like a good WW2 FPS, but Call of Duty is anything but. What an overrated piece of shit series.

I have the last version and it's cool.

Uhmm, Hitman is getting good reviews. You have the New Super Mario Brothers yet?

What's you favorite genre? I check your site and you play all over the spectrum, but what is your favorite game type?

If it's an RPG the story has to be hot. Not like there's a whole lot of variety with RPG stories these days but it can at least be somewhat enjoyable. I haven't done any driving games lately but I'm not resistant to them. Fuck sports games. Action adventure is always fun but if you read on my site I just turned down playing Musashi for being boring. I love the MGS series. Umm I'm cool with anything really. Just name the best games you know and I'll give them a whirl.

I can play the original HL2 well enough but it's not running at 60fps. More like 25-35. Does Ep 1 use HDR and all that jazz? I don't know if my system can deal with it.
