I've had a Legend for the past couple of years, and it's a pretty kickass little unit. Does damn near everything the upper-range models do, only with less memory (Vista excepted).
Hint: if you want to do a car mount for it, get the marine mount and just screw it down permanently. Works a lot better than the suction cup or sandbag units, and reception works a treat as long as it can get about a 90-degree fiedl of vision out of the windscreen.
BTW, to get into the diagnostic mode, click down on the joystick while booting it. Not a whole ton of interesting crap there, but we've used the thermometer (it shows the internal temperature of the unit, not the outside temp.) a couple of times to get a rough idea of how fucked we're likely to be in the desert and mountains.
