SubjectArcade control panel new Reply to this message

Right now I have a Hanaho HotRodSE.

I'd like to get something a little fancier.

Preferably, I want

  • joysticks that can be rotated (to use in Front Line, for example)
  • joysticks with fire buttons on the top
  • appropriate amount of buttons
  • spinner
  • trackball

Enough joysticks, buttons, etc for at least two players.

I'd also like to be able to specify the arrangement of the controls on
the contol panel. Every panel I've seen so far has the joystick set
up for the left hand and the buttons for the right hand. I prefer oldschool
which had the joystick set up for the right hand and the buttons for the left.

Any links, help, etc would be appreciated.

actually, you will have a hard time finding something like that ready..
you may have to go into the DIY business and build one.
Its the only way to get somethin 100% your way.
Me ? i am happy with my arcade control, i just wish i had 2 of them.

I also have a HotrodSE... I've been thinking of changing it, but I think I will hack it a bit first: the keyboard controller for it supports some extra keys useful for MAME, but they are not connected to any buttons. So with a bit of soldering and drilling, you could add 3 new buttons.

Otherwise I think the best solution for an arcade panel would be to get a device that converts arcade controls to USB. It's a bit expensive, but with it you can use any arcade control. I don't remember where I've seen it, but there was probably a link in the "Build your own arcade controls" page.

Other than that, the Hotrod, a joypad, and an analog joystick will be it for me for now...
