Not sure where you live but vista home costs 99 bucks... vista ultimate is only 250 here. and vista pro is 150. As for upgrading i would not recommend it with any on board video anything. As for gaming i have not tried yet. going to install wow on it this week to make sure it works while i move to italy so i have something to do. It seems somewhat demanding but no worse then windows xp running firefox and a few bullshit apps in the tray. You can also do the whole classic view thing so it doesn't skin everything and have the glass look while keeping the new featured start menu and such.
