I got a Sandisk MP3 Player, but it didn't havfe the software used to sync it up with the compiuter. Anyone know how to do this? (I have the USB cable but the computer wont recognize it. I've tried rhapsody4.0 and changing the USB connection setings on the player as well).

That's how my bro's worked. It just recognized it as a removable hard drive. I just browse to the right folder, and copy mp3's over.

My digital camera works the same way. Fuck bundled software.

We have a Sansa e250 at work, and near as I can remember, it works exactly as Eon says. You do need the software for uploading videos, because they have to be transcoded into something that the player can cope with, but music you shouldn't have to.

Others may work differently, but I can check it out.

Try it on another computer to see if it shows up as a removable drive, or just some sort of unknown USB device.

Or if the thing is used, it could be bricked. In that case, look on the maker's website for software that can wipe it clean.

When you plug it Windows should notice, however. If nothing at all happened, I would think it's ready for the trashcan.

It just hasn't worked.

I left it at the g/fs house yesterday, so I don't have it to try on my computer. TKS for the advice everyone - it trecognizes as a "sansa c240" drive but then craps out.

Tried it on 3 computers that were all set up the same way by my gfs crazy brother. ill try it on a (normal?) computer eventually.

I'm just pissed cause I spent 17 - 18 bucks on the cable to connect it to the computer's USB port.
