Also gives us the option to play through some less time consuming games than the newer gen systems.

All work and no play makes me..., well, you know the rest.

Really, I'm down for whatever. PSX month was fun because it allowed me to try some new stuff along with revisit a bunch of games I used to love and see 'em without the rose tinted glasses (Warhawk :( ). I've got a "must play" list for pretty much every system, so I'll back whatever gets decided.

Genesis month sounds extremely tempting.

Instead of restricting this to one platform how about we choose our own theme and go with it? For example maybe I'd play a bunch of games developed by Treasure or I'd conquer Super Mario Bros. 1-3. This way you can choose a set of games that would appeal to you more instead of ferreting out what games you can still stand to play on a specific platform. I think you should at least try to get something that you can take screenshots with because I like to see pretty pictures.

With that said my theme is this; I'm playing ninja games. I'm thinking Revenge of Shinobi, the original Tenchu, and something maybe from the Goemon series since I always wanted to know what those games were about. My game listing may change but that's the idea I have.

Everyone here submits a few games to a list. Platform and genre are up to the submitter and are games the submitter liked. This way we can all sample some games that we maybe hadn't tried before.

Couldn't do PSX Month, simply because my pc is too ghetto.

I'd be on board for Genesis month. I owned one, but the hits for snes were coming out too steadily. At 15 years old, I just didn't have the budget to support two consoles.

Why June though? Can we push it up a few months? Is no one going to have some time in April or something? We could compile a list of games, host the roms somewhere, and crack through them one at a time.

Choose whatever theme you're going for and jam on it. If it's retro-PC games then do it up.

i was thinking about rigging up my old p-90 with 64mb for the task, for that REAL retro experiment, instead of using dosbox or whatever..

However if i canīt, then i will dosbox then and thatīs it..

I'd suggest DOSboxin' it up and using fraps anyway. The amount of convenience gained from being able to switch games and configurations without having to reboot along with being able to snap screenshots and record movies totally outweighs the nostalgic value of trying to get shit running on a weak ass PC. Afterall, you're "keeping it real" as long as you're using DOSbox on a PC and not a Mac. :)
