UPS's tracking system:

Estimated Delivery date is
Item shipped at
Moved to St. Luis for handling
Arrived in AZ today
Out for delivery

Now here's USPS's tracking system:

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on April 23, 2007 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later

Could the Feds be any more vague with that description.
Perhaps they should just say:

"We have no idea if you package is in our system or is
even been shipped. Pray it arrives in a timely matter and isn't broken"
