My phone line has been messed up this week. Turns out Verizon messed with it to reduce the quality of connections for dialup users (yes, it's possible to be worse). If you call them to complain, they'll tell you that they sold you a voice line, not a data line, and then try to to get you to buy their satellite internet service. Fuckin' pricks. I also like how if you get their cell phone service and buy a Motorola phone with the USB connectivity to download stuff to the phone, they disable it so that you have to use their own shitty proprietary service that costs out the ass.
