Not that anyone can't guess how it ends.

Just watched it, I didn't understand why they took creative freedom on some parts, but left other things intact? I didn't mind how it got a little corny in some parts - that was how the original series was, to an extent. Why couldn't they just call it Energon? Never mind this "all spark" shit, Energon sounds badass.

Wasn't a big fan of Optimus' lips (they could have just left the big metal plate there, and had it shift a little when he talked - or even just leave it still - you can pick out Cullen's voice from a mile anyway), but the transformer sound effect when they first ran into Prime made up for it. I quite literally shouted "HOLY SHIT DID YOU HEAR THAT!?".

I also liked how they didn't try to reimagine the whole thing, they could have made up some bullshit story about a virus that attacked machines and made them into robots or whatever - but no, the Transformers were quite simply robots from another planet. No fucking around.

The Sector 7 stuff was stupid, I could have done without the 'super secret government agency' bit. The lead guy did a good job, he's not a bad actor. The girl was hot.

The end was good, I thought it would have been funny if Bumblebee's trunk popped as the camera scrolled away to the horizon.

I can imagine the boardroom where the idea was pitched.

"What can we do to top the special effects in The Matrix?"
"How about The Matrix.... WITH ROBOTS?"

I don't think it was energon. If I remember correctly from the orginial series there was a computer (Alpha Prime, or something like that) that gave each Transformer a spark when they were created. It might have been the episode when the Airelbots were created, I haven't seen it in a long time.

I think they took that concept from the episode I mentioned.
