You don't have to take any verbal punishment. If they are professionals they'll give you a counter offer, or accept your resignation. You'll only burn a bridge if you drop your pants and tell them to kiss your ass. Any boss knows you'd be stupid not to jump on a better oppourtunity. I don't even think people care about two weeks notice anymore.
