The way you describe it it sounds like the first CoD. The idea been; take cove - shoot a few enemies in your way - run to new cover - repeat. This is how I played the first CoD and loved it. It sounds like you want the game to play like; walk into room - kill set number of enemies - move to next room - repeat.

I think the main problem lies in what you think the game is meant to play like. I liked the game because of its different play style, which seems to be why you hate it.
