SubjectAnyone ever try the Namco 50th Anniversary on the Game Boy Advance? Reply to this message

I just got the cartridge in the mail today. I "won" it on Ebay for around $11.50. It seems to be better than the Namco Museum. Mass entertainment coded the Namco Museum, and Digital Eclipse coded the Namco 50th Anniversary.

I did notice the Dig Dug demo on the Namco Museum was more accurate than the 50th Anniversary, but Ms. Pac Man was bigger *full screen*, Dig Dug didn't scroll on the 50th Anniversary, and Pac Man's demo mode seemed to be exactly the same on MAME and the 50th Anniversary.

I thought maybe Vampire Hunter D, since he mentioned the Galaga bug where you're ship can be destroyed while in the tractor beam, that was in the Namco Museum version. I'm unsure if it's in the Namco 50th version.

-MAME, not just for preserving Pac Man, but for preserving all games, even the crappy and unfinished ones...
-MAME isn't a Democracy, end users can't vote...

I never bought it out of spite so I can't say anything about that one. The moment I found out Namco went el cheapo again with the little 50cent battery on hi-score saving it went right off the list. I also got rid of the original over that issue too after a time. I have the DS one now which is a damn fine collection of interesting titles...and they save, have dipswitch weirdness for all the coded in eggs and bugs, also has the spinoff versions Super Xevious and another of Dig Dug 2. That one is SO worth the $20, and fun to do in sideways view so the aspect ratio works out.

Only thing at all I hate not having on it are Pole Position and Ms Pac-Man, but in Japan the box has a 'N' on it so I'm guessing A...M...C...O. :) (I can hope.)
