I've heard the same bitching, even among the so-called fanboys having to at least admit it can get repetitive.
The game just seems more suitable as a smartly done 2D/3D mix platform game than what they're making it out to be.
You do raise a great point though. You can get shovelware mediocrity for $20 or $30 on the Wii, and then pay $60 for it on the 360. That kind of bullet to the pocket just isn't fun to bite one damn bit. Sick thing is with shit like Fraudspot.com does with their you pay us big $ for ads we give good reviews shit you never much know anymore what is crap and not.
I've resigned myself to at this rate even semi-not trusting known good stuff as it's been kind of shit on a stick fun too such as the last 2 Zelda games (DS/Wii) as one had reaking shitty control compounded by a forced re-trace of an assinine dungeon with a deathclock on it each time you got any item/badge of merit. Then TP was just too fucking slow and big, the fake sword control pissed me off, the wolf moves like a dumptruck, and the save works like Zelda 1 so if you don't play like 2hours you lose 30min of effort and picked up shit...fuck that.
As it is I tend to not buy much new anymore, trade old old tired shit (books, dvds, games, etc) and use the credits to get the new stuff newly used at a local shop that gives like 2-3x the credit than Gamestop does. I just learned this weekend that CoD4 on the DS is a decent attempt at copying the console copy and is downright probably the best controlling, looking and sounding game on DS by a good notch...fancy that, and at $25 ($10 cheaper!) And if it sucked they have a 7day return policy, and up to 14days you get 80% credit back! That's how I save myself from the shitpiles you're forced into from con job reviews from sheisters these days.
