miniStack v3

With its eSATA, two FireWire 800, one FireWire 400, and three USB 2.0 ports PLUS FW800/FW400/USB2.0 connection cables included, miniStack v3 connects to Mac and PC systems with Plug-n-Play simplicity.

The online config sheet suggested that it was a WD. Whatever.

It's a work computer, so it's not as if there's anything critical on it. There was sales data going back five years in some cases, reordering numbers for stuff, vendor price lists and comparisons, computer propaganda sheets, and some stuff that should help if we ever switch over to the new inventory system. I was going to try Slackware fdisk to try and restore the MBR (it can do it without overwriting the disk data like MS FDISK) and pull stuff from a working box before trying some data recovery software that we have, but our ever-capable MIS department has it now, so I have every confidence that the data will be well and truly fucked.

Thanks for the suggestions, though

For what it's worth, I found a reaaally nice utility for these occasions, it's called findntfs and is retarded simple. It only works for NTFS drives obviously but it's super lightweight, works within windows, commandline, free well everything hotshot recovery software isn't. Saved my data twice.
