SubjectWeb site question new Reply to this message

A friend has a web site already set up. She wants to buy a few other domain names and have them point to the one already set up.

For example,

abc.com <-- original (already set up)

def.com \__ ones she wants to point to abc.com
lmn.com /

What do you need to do to get this to happen?

Thanks in advance.

SubjectIsn't there like a javascript code that can immediately forward to another URL? nt Reply to this message

Well you could either have them point to the same DNS entry by telling your registrar to do that and then they'll all lead to the same place, or you could set up some splash page (nothing that takes long to load as it will only be seen for .5 sec and has to load in that amount of time) with a meta tag like this

The web host's control panel will usually have a feature called "domain parking" or "domain pointing," which sounds like what you're looking for. She would need to set the nameservers for def.com and lmn.com to the same ones as abc.com, then go into abc.com's control panel and add def.com and lmn.com as parked domains.
