Yeah I don't play online and if that software doesn't exist anymore or it's shitty and there's some better software, I don't know about it

You can play up to mame 119 on kaillera, which is pretty recent and includes all the CPS3 games, with mameppk.

Kaillera itself has actually come a long way, there is now "p2p Kaillera", which basically does exactly what it says on the tin, vastly reducing delay. Regular Kaillera has also become pretty fancy, there is some real competition out there now.

There is also GGPO, which - if you haven't heard of it, or tested it - is basically the best thing since vagina.
