Found it a while ago. You do have to do a lot of playing around after uploading your picture, but I eventually got this:





I then tweaked it a bit more in Paint.NET and got this, which I use as my profile pic in a couple of places (Flickr, Kotaku, and I used to on Facebook before I got sick of their shit):
