What do you guys use to find new music and even more important how do you download it (for those that aren't rich enough to just buy everything they like)

I have tried last.fm and ilike and i don't really dig either of them. I also found some artists i like a lot but can't find any albums of theres on newsgroups to see if i want to buy the CD. Any ideas?
