Grab the latest one and the latest plugins there too. You'll also need the PS2 bios.

Once you run it, go into the options and set up the plugins, and specially the CPU options (enable everything and leave the frame's setting at "normal" for now.)

Do note that PCSX2 isn't able to use a quadcore, only a dual, so clock speed is a bigger issue than the number of cores.

There are also some speed hacks you can enable, but try to run the games without them first, as they can cause some glitches.

Once you have everything running, try to play around with the settings to see if you get better speeds.
